Welcome back. Welcome back.
00:00:03
Welcome back. Yeah.
00:00:05
What's good? You're locked into the We Legit
00:00:07
16 Hustle and Story podcast, where real story meets real
00:00:12
grind. This is a platform for hustlers,
00:00:15
creators, entrepreneurs and everyday people turning pain
00:00:20
into purpose. If you are chasing a vision from
00:00:23
the ground up and grinding when nobody's watching, this a
00:00:26
podcast for you. Now let's get into it.
00:00:29
Today's episode is based on love, leverage, and late nights
00:00:35
building a business while building a relationship.
00:00:38
I have went through this personally because my last
00:00:41
relationship was the start of the business.
00:00:44
And as time went on, it was good in the beginning, but it became
00:00:49
a little tainted as time went on.
00:00:52
And what I mean by tainted, before I made a sale, before I
00:00:55
broadcast anything, I was being accused of cheating, accused of
00:01:01
being a womanizer and doing stuff on the business line in
00:01:06
the business e-mail without any evidence being produced.
00:01:12
And the little advice before I get into the episode, really
00:01:16
choose wisely on who you want in your corner when you're starting
00:01:22
a company. And if it's not starting a
00:01:24
company, it can go with everyday life as in who you choose to
00:01:28
have kids with or who do you want to grow with you as you're
00:01:32
building yourself up with a company.
00:01:35
So there's always best to choose your partner wisely because it
00:01:38
helps the stress level anxiety and it lets you know if you're
00:01:42
growing or you're just going to stay in the same boat.
00:01:46
Now let's get into it. This podcast explores what
00:01:49
really happens when ambition and intimacy run side by side.
00:01:53
It's about navigating love while chasing goals, managing time,
00:01:58
money, energy, emotional availability when you are
00:02:02
building something meaningful and trying not to lose the
00:02:06
relationship in the process. What I mean by that is, per
00:02:11
usual, you always got to be ambitious.
00:02:13
Being ambitious mean that you got some, let's say some funk or
00:02:18
some trying to find a word. We're just going to go with funk
00:02:23
right now. Some funk in class to yourself,
00:02:25
you know what I'm saying? To where a lot of people don't.
00:02:28
This person got something going on.
00:02:30
I can really rock and dig with that.
00:02:32
And then when you're rocking with a person and you build that
00:02:35
and you build up that foundation in the beginning and y'all said
00:02:38
and y'all set date a program. Intimate intimacy is usually
00:02:42
going to run side by side as per usual.
00:02:45
When you spend a lot of time with a person, you usually fall
00:02:50
for one another and that is perfectly normal because it's
00:02:54
just nature. And when it runs side by side,
00:02:59
you start to learn stuff about a person.
00:03:01
This person don't like this, this person don't like that.
00:03:04
Well, let's see if this person messed with my program and if
00:03:07
the both programs come together, then it's a beautiful thing.
00:03:11
But if you see a red flags in the beginning, if you're trying
00:03:15
to better yourself and not stay in a particular boat, you want
00:03:20
to keep rowing on the boat, you should really pay attention to
00:03:24
the red flags because a lot of people ignore it just to say
00:03:29
they have somebody. And you shouldn't live your life
00:03:32
like that. Because if you ignoring red
00:03:35
flags just to have somebody, that means if it the
00:03:38
relationship is 5050, it's like you halfway in and you're
00:03:42
halfway out. You know deep down inside that
00:03:44
this person is not for you. So as I said in my previous
00:03:48
episodes, a lot of people is not meant to be with you on every
00:03:52
journey that you're on. So you really need to look in
00:03:55
the mirror at yourself to see if this is something that you
00:03:57
really want or if this is something that you willing to
00:04:03
sacrifice your whole life because one relationship can
00:04:07
mess up your whole entire life, depending on how you own
00:04:12
structure the program. Then as per usual, love is love
00:04:19
and it's all about building with a person, especially when you're
00:04:22
both on the same wavelength. And if you're on the same
00:04:25
wavelength, that means you're going to be chasing goals and
00:04:28
why chasing goals? Some couples love taking
00:04:32
vacations in the summertime, flossing on the gram and TikTok
00:04:35
and let them know we out here doing the thing, you know what
00:04:37
I'm saying? And then other goals is saving
00:04:40
to buy a house, saving to start another company, or just savings
00:04:44
just to be saving. There's nothing wrong with
00:04:47
having goals in a relationship that keeps the fire going and
00:04:50
the spice all the way up. And then with that, it comes
00:04:53
with managing time. Managing time as in this person
00:04:57
work I work, we got to come together on the time schedule to
00:05:00
make sure that our program is together so we won't be bored
00:05:04
with one another. Step out in a relationship
00:05:07
forcing each other to be forcing each other to be with one
00:05:11
another knowing that it's not even working because we can't
00:05:15
manage the time. And then when the time
00:05:18
management is not on point, it's best to actually talk to your
00:05:22
partner to get it together before stepping out.
00:05:26
Because in most relationships the side person know more than
00:05:29
the actual person in a relationship.
00:05:31
And then the person in a relationship is asking the same
00:05:33
questions that the side person you giving them automatic
00:05:37
information to. So it's kind of crazy that you
00:05:39
not 100 in your relationship but you 100 in the side
00:05:43
relationship. And then when the real
00:05:45
relationship ends, you get upset and want to keep the real
00:05:49
relationship. Mad that the side relationship
00:05:52
is tainting the real relationship.
00:05:54
So it doesn't make sense to own why something so many people is
00:05:58
willing to keep the side relationship going versus the
00:06:01
real relationship. But it always say that the
00:06:08
people love a thrill and people love to do stuff without getting
00:06:12
caught. That's what it boils down to.
00:06:15
But if you in a real relationship and it's flowing
00:06:17
all the way through, the money, the energy, the emotional
00:06:21
availability and building something is all going to come
00:06:26
together just like butter. So we're going to get into hold
00:06:34
on. And one more thing, it pulls
00:06:37
back the curtains on the late nights, the misdates, money
00:06:40
conversation, power shifts and personal growth that comes with
00:06:45
being business driven and in love or trying to be.
00:06:49
When for me, when I started my company, I would tell my partner
00:06:55
everything that was going on. She was in the mix, we was
00:06:58
living together. So it makes sense to keep her in
00:07:00
the float because I'm not hiding anything.
00:07:03
Well, sometimes, you know, I might miss dates due to being
00:07:06
tired. Money conversation always got to
00:07:09
be a must because we got to make sure that we keeping the
00:07:12
household together. We able to take dates and do
00:07:16
date night, go to movies and do stuff we like to do.
00:07:19
They keep the spice going. And quite naturally the person
00:07:23
that makes more have the more say so in some relationships.
00:07:26
But with me, that's more of 5050 really hunting, hunting because
00:07:32
her point of view might make more sense than my point of
00:07:36
view. So you got to learn how to weigh
00:07:39
the check and balance on everything.
00:07:41
And personal growth is good on both ends because I'm growing
00:07:47
and starting a business I don't know nothing about.
00:07:50
So having a strong partner in the mix, it will make sure that
00:07:55
we're both growing together, we're both learning together.
00:07:58
So when it comes time to start another company, then it's like
00:08:04
a, OK, we, we, we doing something right here.
00:08:08
And that's what makes it good all the way through.
00:08:11
And that comes with being business driven and love all
00:08:15
together. When you got everything messed
00:08:17
together and the program was all together, that's what it's all
00:08:20
about at the end of the day. So we're going to cover time
00:08:24
versus attention, late nights while working.
00:08:27
Your partner feels neglected. Another example, choosing
00:08:31
between deadlines and date night and one more quality time versus
00:08:36
quantity time in me in a relationship I always be up
00:08:41
thinking and most of the time it'd be late night and I'm not
00:08:46
neglecting my person but it's just something on my mind and I
00:08:50
might look over the bed by. Alright bye.
00:08:54
What do you think of this? She might not have a clue what
00:08:56
the hell I'm talking about, but her input will most definitely
00:09:01
give me an insight of what I should do.
00:09:04
And it may be good and may be bad, but you always got to
00:09:10
consult with your partner because it's y'all 2 in this
00:09:14
venture moving on and no one else.
00:09:17
Because the outside people have nothing had nothing to do with
00:09:20
what's going on in this household and the program that
00:09:23
we running. So it's always best to relate to
00:09:26
your partner what you got going on just to hear another point of
00:09:29
view before going to outside source.
00:09:32
And then for me, I choose between deadlines and date
00:09:36
night. Me my company is based online
00:09:41
and off a customer's request. So for someone that has a actual
00:09:46
business, well not say actual business but actual storefront,
00:09:50
that might be a little tainted because they got a set with a
00:09:55
opening hours, ending hours, closing hours, counting money
00:09:59
like counting all the one on a daily basis.
00:10:02
So for someone that have a storefront that might come into
00:10:07
play with going on date nights, me, my business is basically
00:10:12
online. So I have a little bit more
00:10:15
leverage than the average person.
00:10:17
So I can have a deadline, I can still commit to the deadline and
00:10:21
continue a date night all in the same fashion.
00:10:25
So when people that have a storefront, they really need to
00:10:28
think about, have that conversation with the person
00:10:31
you're talking to seeing that is going to be going the way that
00:10:37
you feel like it's going. You should let that person know
00:10:40
everything that you got going on business wise and let them make
00:10:44
the choice to see if that is what they really want to sign up
00:10:48
for. And then as we go into quality
00:10:52
time versus quantity time, quality time can be you watching
00:10:57
the game, She's right there with you, you working on a project,
00:11:01
she right there with you. That's an example of quality
00:11:04
time or y'all going to take a drive, taking a walk on the
00:11:08
beach by the river. That's quality time.
00:11:10
Quantity time as you actually working on the business and
00:11:15
she's right there or choosing to put herself in there like hey,
00:11:18
what can I do? You can do press a shirt or
00:11:23
something like that or mark it is put this on, put some shades
00:11:27
on as a hat and let's mark it marketed this picture.
00:11:31
That's what you call quantity time.
00:11:33
It all depends on if your partner is 1 to participate and
00:11:36
what it is that you got going on.
00:11:38
You got to make them feel comfortable.
00:11:40
You got to make them knowledgeable so they won't be
00:11:43
in the rear or in the limbo of not knowing what's going on and
00:11:46
knowing how to help produce. Now we about to touch on money,
00:11:52
power and expectation. Dating while broke versus dating
00:11:57
after success. Dating while broke is really
00:12:00
good because when you're dating you can let a person know like I
00:12:04
just started this out, you know, I ain't making much money.
00:12:07
So it's easy to find a person in that aspect.
00:12:11
But once you start getting success, it's a lot different
00:12:16
because you don't know who's coming at you to be genuine or
00:12:22
around for clout. And it's going to be hard to
00:12:26
dissect because like it'll be women that you probably talked
00:12:32
to back in the day. They didn't want to have nothing
00:12:34
to do with you. But as you grow and they seeing
00:12:38
it and they looking at the potential now they want to come
00:12:42
around after the hard work's been done.
00:12:44
So you really got to pick and choose on who you give your
00:12:47
access to because everybody's not meant to be with you on this
00:12:51
journey. And the next thing we're going
00:12:54
to get into is who pays for what.
00:12:57
In the early stages for me, I pay for everything for myself
00:13:01
because if anything goes wrong, I'll take the responsibility and
00:13:04
take it on the chin. The person that's with me, they
00:13:08
can witness everything and they can also give input on what I
00:13:12
should do so it won't fall. Fall.
00:13:18
What's the word I'm looking for? So it won't fall out as a
00:13:22
unsuccessful business. So it's trial and error and
00:13:25
everything that you do. This life is not perfect.
00:13:28
We all learned at the same time. Some learn faster than others
00:13:32
and some just roll the punches. You dig and then after you
00:13:37
figure out who pays for what, you're going to get into income
00:13:41
imbalance and ego. Income imbalance to me is when a
00:13:46
person making a little paper, but not a whole lot.
00:13:51
But actually in the early stages when people make a little paper,
00:13:57
the ego get boosted because they feeling like you know this thing
00:14:01
is going on. But once you hit that slow
00:14:03
stage, you know, your ego get a little tainted and you get real
00:14:08
bitter and mad about every little thing because you had a
00:14:11
good flow going on. But it's that slow period.
00:14:14
That slow period is going to make you stronger and that's the
00:14:16
make and break and the whole process.
00:14:20
So for me, I like to make sure my finances is in point, on
00:14:25
point and I always keep my ego in check because you never know
00:14:30
who you're going to run into that's going to help you or hurt
00:14:33
you. So it's best to keep, it's best
00:14:35
to stay humble in every situation you are in when you
00:14:40
meet somebody because you never know how the outcome would turn
00:14:43
out. And then from there, you're
00:14:46
going to financial transparency and new relationships.
00:14:51
For me, I don't really discuss too much finance wise, business
00:14:55
wise, because I'll keep it to myself.
00:14:58
And The thing is, I don't want to have my partner count the
00:15:04
ducats that I make because the billing have to go back into the
00:15:08
business. They got to be reinvested for
00:15:12
future gain. And then as most people feel
00:15:16
like when they're in a relationship, they have to tell
00:15:19
their partner every little thing.
00:15:21
It's cool to tell them every little thing, but not every
00:15:24
little thing. And sometimes money don't have
00:15:29
to be spent on a vacation or a new purse or a bag or anything
00:15:32
like that. It should be saved in a bank.
00:15:35
And with that being said, you got to really realize who you
00:15:40
dealing with when you choose your partner because it's a make
00:15:45
or break and it's cheaper to keep her, they say.
00:15:50
But you got to make sure you make the right choice on who you
00:15:54
keeping because it can go all the way good and it can go all
00:15:57
the way bad. The next part of the segment
00:16:02
we're going to touch on support versus sacrifice.
00:16:06
With support turn into pressure. For me, I wouldn't want my
00:16:12
partner to put pressure on me because this is something that I
00:16:16
love doing and this is fun. I get an income from it.
00:16:23
There's something I really like doing and when I'm feeling
00:16:26
pressure on doing something, it really runs me the wrong way
00:16:30
because it's starting to feel like a job instead of just
00:16:34
something I really like doing. So it really do goes back to who
00:16:41
you have in your corner. My circle's small and it's small
00:16:46
for a reason. I have a partner, she gives
00:16:49
great advice and I take I take her word very wisely.
00:16:58
Reason being because I've been doing this on my own for a while
00:17:01
and when new information come in, I have to process it to see
00:17:06
if it fit well with what my program is.
00:17:09
It's not like I'm deserting her, I'm listening, but I got to find
00:17:13
a way to incorporate it to make it launch, if that makes sense.
00:17:18
The next thing is expecting your partner to hold it down.
00:17:23
As far as holding it down, it depends on what her position is.
00:17:28
So that can go a variety of different ways depending on what
00:17:31
type of business that you're in. And one thing I noticed, when
00:17:34
females are fully invested in a guy, support him all the way
00:17:39
through more ways than you can imagine.
00:17:42
So for her to hold it down, depending on your partner that
00:17:47
you choose, if she's the right one, if she's the right one,
00:17:51
she's going to hold it down. If she's the wrong one, she's
00:17:54
only there for the moment, bro. She's only there for the moment.
00:17:57
Next we're going to get into when your partner doesn't
00:18:02
understand your vision. This right here is very common.
00:18:06
You can explain your vision to a person or your partner and if
00:18:11
they don't get it, it's all the way good.
00:18:15
As long as she's showing some type of support in some type of
00:18:17
way, shape, form or fashion. You should never end a
00:18:20
relationship all because a partner doesn't understand your
00:18:24
vision. A lot of people are not going to
00:18:26
understand your vision. Your mom's not going to
00:18:28
understand your vision. Your siblings, cousins,
00:18:31
relatives, people you grow up with is not going to understand
00:18:33
your vision. So for some people to end a
00:18:35
relationship with a person that they're with and spend time
00:18:40
with, invested time with because I didn't understand their vision
00:18:44
is really silly. Because you can get that from
00:18:46
someone that you know your whole life and you're not going to end
00:18:50
that relationship all because they don't understand your
00:18:52
vision. You're going to keep them around
00:18:54
and try to prove them wrong. So you should do the same.
00:18:56
You should respect your relationship the same exact way
00:18:59
when with that being said, being emotionally present while
00:19:03
mentally exhausted. No most guy well me growing up
00:19:09
guys do this on a regular. But as I noticing as I'm growing
00:19:14
older and noticing from the people that's younger than me.
00:19:17
This is a huge problem and everybody know that you got to
00:19:23
spend time with baby and there's nothing wrong with spending time
00:19:28
with baby. It might be taking her out to a
00:19:31
movie, her and the kids go get something to eat.
00:19:35
Having time to reflect and not just think about what y'all been
00:19:39
doing work wise, business wise, just a time out with the family
00:19:43
and you know, just chilling and kicking it.
00:19:45
And you could be mentally exhausted.
00:19:48
But you got to put that to the side because you chose this
00:19:51
person and you got to realize that you got to spend time with
00:19:55
this person whether they have kids or they don't.
00:19:58
Either way it goes. You got to make sure quality
00:20:01
time is being spent because that's going to keep her secure
00:20:07
and safe and making sure that she's in the picture.
00:20:12
And that's always good. What they say, happy life, happy
00:20:15
wife. And next we're going to get into
00:20:19
identity and growth, outgrowing relationships as you level up.
00:20:26
Now in the beginning of the segment, I always I had
00:20:30
mentioned when you choose the right partner, you will not
00:20:35
outgrow your partner. Y'all be growing and leveling up
00:20:40
at the same time. But when you choose the wrong
00:20:44
partner, that's when the relationship feels as you're
00:20:49
leveling up. And she's not involved.
00:20:52
My last relationship, she felt like I was leveling up, but I
00:20:59
was keeping her in loop. But you can't control what
00:21:04
another person is feeling. Now I can say everything, tell
00:21:12
everything to make her comfortable and secure, but with
00:21:16
a person's not understanding or respecting it, I had no control
00:21:21
over that. So she felt like I was
00:21:24
outgrowing her, but I was trying to bring her along with me.
00:21:28
But even in previous episodes of me talking, I had to really
00:21:34
realize and sit down and think like a everybody is not meant to
00:21:41
be with you on this journey and it's all the way good.
00:21:46
So this is a thing that you really have to pay attention to
00:21:50
red flags and all on who you dealing with when you get into a
00:21:54
relationship and also dating someone who met you before
00:22:01
versus after the success. As I said earlier in the
00:22:05
podcast, when you dating someone you met before the success is
00:22:10
really good because you're growing together, you're
00:22:13
learning together, things is flowing, prospering.
00:22:16
So it won't be as bad when you meet date a person after the
00:22:21
success, because when you date a person after the success, you
00:22:25
don't know if they're there for the clout.
00:22:26
You don't know if they're there just to be seen and recognize,
00:22:28
have something to talk about or brag to their friends about.
00:22:33
So it still goes back to you gotta really make sure who you
00:22:37
dealing with 'cause people change all day every day.
00:22:41
Then we're gonna touch on personal growth, creating
00:22:47
emotional distance or deeper connection.
00:22:52
Personal growth comes along daily whether you know it or not
00:22:58
You can be one way one day, you can be something the next day,
00:23:03
as long as you paying attention on your growth and how's it
00:23:07
coming along and keeping your emotions in check.
00:23:12
When you have your emotion in check you all the way top tier
00:23:16
level where nothing fades you, you can understand and respect
00:23:20
what's coming along your way. But also you double check in and
00:23:25
make sure that this connection is deeper than just creating
00:23:31
emotional distance. So the deeper the connection,
00:23:38
the more investment it is relationship wise.
00:23:42
But when people have a difference of an opinion, that's
00:23:49
when the problem starts. So personal growth is a normal
00:23:56
and good thing, but when you have a deeper connection, it's
00:24:02
really hard to break that bond when you build so much together
00:24:06
and you just grow out of it. When it comes to that part, you
00:24:11
should really seek a therapy session or talk to outside
00:24:15
person to get an approval. Not approval, but outside
00:24:23
opinion to see if it's worth continuing or break it all up.
00:24:32
So from that point on, we're gonna go into love as leverage,
00:24:40
not a distraction. How the right partner can
00:24:43
sharpen focus. The right partner can see your
00:24:48
flaws automatically. But sharpening it is the key
00:24:54
thing. It might be certain things that
00:24:57
you feel like is good, but that partner can sharpen it.
00:25:02
Have you feeling really good? Have you feel more confident
00:25:08
looking apart, seeing apart and seeing a vision a whole lot
00:25:12
further than you ever have seen it for yourself?
00:25:16
So the whole basis of this podcast episode is all about
00:25:21
making sure you choose the right person because you want to grow
00:25:24
naturally and growing is a everyday process.
00:25:29
So when you have the right partner, you seeing certain
00:25:33
things that you didn't know anything about.
00:25:35
So it's always good to have a second opinion, but when you
00:25:41
choose the wrong partner, everything is not flowing all
00:25:45
the way right and the boat is just not rocking.
00:25:48
And after that, we go into emotional safety as a business
00:25:54
advantage. That's when you invest more in
00:25:58
your business versus the relationship.
00:26:01
And that's all the way wrong because if you can't manage a
00:26:05
relationship and the relationship is not respecting
00:26:10
the business, then my friend, you chose the wrong partner.
00:26:14
And that where a lot of problem come in because previous
00:26:19
episodes I explained when people start companies, they have a
00:26:22
partner in there. So that partner has a percentage
00:26:26
in the company. So if you and that partner is
00:26:28
not rocking on the same wavelength, it causes problems
00:26:32
and drama and it brings in a lot of dysfunction.
00:26:37
So you have to make sure you really choosing the right person
00:26:42
by your side and it will save you a headache in the long run.
00:26:48
And last but not least, building together versus building
00:26:53
separately. When you build together, you
00:26:57
walk different, you talk different.
00:26:59
You gotta, you gotta glow. You feeling yourself, 'cause
00:27:03
everything is feeling really good and ain't nothing that it's
00:27:08
like walking on cloud 9, Can't nobody tell you nothing.
00:27:12
You're the baddest thing walking around.
00:27:14
But when you build it separately, it's all over your
00:27:17
face, it's all over your mood and your attitude and you just
00:27:21
not being who you are. And that brings in a lot of
00:27:26
dysfunction to where people in your business that he said, she
00:27:30
said and everybody got something to say.
00:27:36
So when you build something together, they come together
00:27:40
like it's all the way, but when you're building separately, it's
00:27:44
just it doesn't feel right. You moves all the way off and
00:27:50
you just don't feel like doing anything.
00:27:52
You're not motivated to keep it going.
00:27:55
So that's why a lot of businesses doesn't really work
00:27:59
if you're not having the right partner.
00:28:01
And that's why I said for someone that wants to become an
00:28:05
entrepreneur, you have to start it off by yourself.
00:28:09
When you start off by yourself, it builds a lot of strength and
00:28:13
then you're learning who you are as a person to really
00:28:18
understand. Like you know what, I can do
00:28:21
this. But when you hit the rock
00:28:24
bottom, you know you have to hit rock bottom.
00:28:26
You could just be like, you know what, let me reach out to some
00:28:28
help and see if I can do this with assistance.
00:28:33
