00:01:16
Now let's get into today's episode.
00:01:18
Today's episode is why entrepreneurs stay stuck.
00:01:25
This right here. I suffer in the beginning stages
00:01:28
and it happens quite often that a lot of people really don't
00:01:31
speak about. Then number one I'm gonna get
00:01:34
into is lack of discipline. A lot of people love the idea of
00:01:40
entrepreneurship, but they struggle with the daily
00:01:44
discipline it takes to build something.
00:01:47
Entrepreneurship is repetitive. What I mean by repetitive
00:01:51
posting content consistently, building a system, reinvesting
00:01:57
money, learning new skills, posting content consistently.
00:02:04
Depending on the business that you're in and the market, most
00:02:09
people post constantly on social media.
00:02:13
Facebook X Twitter. My bad.
00:02:18
Twitter known as X Instagram, Tiktok, Facebook and etcetera.
00:02:26
And to be noticed and seen. Word of mouth is cool but to
00:02:31
reach a broader audience you have to go to social media.
00:02:36
And one thing I can say when I took this break, I can see a dip
00:02:40
in views a little bit but not too much.
00:02:44
But posting content consistently keeps people in tune.
00:02:49
You have them wondering what's he going to drop next, what's he
00:02:53
going to post, what's going on, how's he doing?
00:02:57
You know, it's kind of part of a family, extended family, if that
00:03:01
makes sense. Because people don't got used to
00:03:03
your scheduling and when you go off the schedule it kind of
00:03:06
throws them off. So when your normal program
00:03:11
business wise when it comes to posting content on a consistent
00:03:14
basis, you got to make sure that you keep it in a structured
00:03:17
manner. So people know kind of like your
00:03:21
routine when it comes to you doing what you're doing online
00:03:25
wise. So when you get out of that
00:03:27
structure, it kind of confuses them, but they still be looking
00:03:32
because they have to understand that every day is not going to
00:03:36
be the same. I have days where I might not
00:03:39
necessarily forget to post but sometimes the phone be acting up
00:03:43
or say I can't post at this time or I gotta wait depending if I
00:03:47
have signal depending on the location that I'm at.
00:03:49
So it kind of messed up my consistency on certain days.
00:03:52
But eventually I get to posting the the normal usual.
00:03:58
But a lot of people that I talk to that want to get into
00:04:01
business, they usually lack in this aspect of posting contact
00:04:06
consistently because usually a lot of them work, which I do
00:04:09
too. But it comes with you gotta
00:04:13
learn how to manage your time outside of work when it comes to
00:04:18
entrepreneurship. Posting is a big portion of it
00:04:22
because a lot of people will comment, look like share,
00:04:25
reshare added to favorites and all kind of stuff.
00:04:28
So this right here will get you looked at more so than word of
00:04:33
mouth. Word of mouth will get you
00:04:35
looked at on a local tip. The social media gets you looked
00:04:38
at worldwide and globally when it come to building systems.
00:04:43
Building systems is like I have a company which I started off
00:04:49
selling clothes and T-shirts. I went from that to podcasting.
00:04:53
Now podcasting, I can mention the merch and mention a lot of
00:04:59
different things that I'm doing. As far as another company, I'm
00:05:02
getting ready to expand within the LLC.
00:05:05
Let's come in the next couple of months.
00:05:07
So it's like I'm building a system of I have clothing, I
00:05:12
have the podcast, and I have another company coming in.
00:05:15
So it keeps me motivated, It keeps me moving and not stopping
00:05:24
because now it's starting to become fun.
00:05:26
May of this year, Mark that I've been selling for three years,
00:05:32
been in business since August of 2021.
00:05:35
So to get the status that I feel like that I don't reach it May
00:05:39
it took about three years going on three years.
00:05:42
So it's really good and building system is basically like
00:05:46
previously posting content, making sure you go online,
00:05:52
interacting with people even out in public or online, make sure
00:05:57
that you're interacting. If people comment on your merch
00:06:01
or whatever it is you're doing, you know, just give good
00:06:04
feedback on the way back to them so they can know how genuine and
00:06:08
a good person that you are. That's what you call building
00:06:10
systems and connections. And it's all part of become an
00:06:15
entrepreneurship and it's all part of being disciplined.
00:06:18
And the next thing we go get into is reinvesting money.
00:06:21
When you get paid, most people spend their paychecks on
00:06:24
whatever it is they feel like they need at that particular
00:06:26
time. Me, I pay the bills, have fun
00:06:30
here and there, but then I reinvest in my company as in
00:06:34
like I'll get a just a couple of items for the, for the company
00:06:41
and get some more merch or whatever and or get something
00:06:46
that a customer requests, you know, a lot of different things.
00:06:49
But reinvesting into the company, it helps build the
00:06:52
company up. And it's all about growth, and
00:06:56
reinvesting is a real big thing. If you don't reinvest in your
00:06:59
company, then you're going to be stuck in the stage of lack of
00:07:02
discipline. Then when you lack discipline,
00:07:05
you're just going to be stuck in no motion learning new skills.
00:07:10
You got to be able to be teachable when you get into
00:07:13
becoming an entrepreneur. But if you're not teachable,
00:07:17
you're going to be stuck in your ways, as a lot of people would
00:07:21
say. And being stuck in your ways and
00:07:23
having a business, you're never going to grow because the world
00:07:26
is changing every day. Not one day is the same.
00:07:29
So if you're not willing to learn new skills, pick up new
00:07:33
things or learn something different from your norm and
00:07:36
being stubborn, they're not going to last long.
00:07:39
You're going to be wondering why you're going to be part of that
00:07:42
statistic of many people quit because they expect fast results
00:07:48
instead of long term execution. And everybody wants the results
00:07:55
of entrepreneurship, but not everybody wants the routine that
00:08:00
recreate, that creates those results.
00:08:04
And now we're going to get into fear of failure.
00:08:09
Many entrepreneurs stay stuck because they are afraid to
00:08:12
launch products, post their content, ask for support, invest
00:08:17
in themselves, launch products. I mean, I launched plenty of
00:08:22
products, shirts, T-shirt designs, all kind of things in
00:08:27
the beginning. It didn't pan out the way I
00:08:31
thought. So a lot of doubt was in the mix
00:08:35
because I didn't get the, I didn't get the support I thought
00:08:40
I was going to get in the beginning.
00:08:42
So, and I think when people be so happy that they started a
00:08:47
business or what, or a company or whatever it is that they're
00:08:51
starting, the high is really good because it's like, hey, I'm
00:08:55
happy, I'm excited. No, I can't wait to get this
00:09:00
going. But when you launch it and you
00:09:04
feeling like you're not getting what you're supposed to get,
00:09:08
that doubt and fear will most definitely hinder you because
00:09:14
you got to prepare that a lot of people, it's just not going to
00:09:19
support and it's not a bad thing or it's not a good thing.
00:09:23
It's just it is what it is type of thing.
00:09:26
So launching things and they don't go the way that you
00:09:29
thought. Don't get discouraged because
00:09:33
when you fail, there's nothing wrong with failing.
00:09:36
Everybody fails in life. So even though you fail, it's
00:09:40
all about getting back up and doing it all over again.
00:09:44
Maybe the time it wasn't right, maybe the season wasn't right,
00:09:47
it it just might have been that particular time to launch, but
00:09:51
you got it done. So by you already knowing how to
00:09:54
launch, now you know how to do it better the second and third
00:09:59
time going around. So even though it didn't work
00:10:01
out the first time, it's never, it's not bad to try again to
00:10:05
make sure to get it right. So launching products is pretty
00:10:09
much a part of the process and becoming an entrepreneur and
00:10:13
there's something that you just got to get used to.
00:10:15
Everything is not going to hit. So it's best to learn as you go
00:10:22
and don't repeat the same mistakes.
00:10:24
And also, you got to get used to posting your content.
00:10:27
Posting your content is going to get you discovered in notice.
00:10:30
And people might not recognize it right now, but eventually
00:10:34
it's going to. It's going to generate like,
00:10:37
now, like I said, this may have been selling for three years.
00:10:43
So now a lot of people are starting to catch up on the old
00:10:46
stuff I had posted. A lot of people say, oh, man, I
00:10:48
think I was like, man, I did that a long time ago.
00:10:50
They said, for real. I was like, yeah, so it's kind
00:10:53
of old, but I appreciate you looking at it and liking what
00:10:57
you have seen. So just because that content
00:10:59
might not hit when it first launched, but when it reappears
00:11:04
and people see it as oh, wow. OK, so don't ever get
00:11:09
discouraged about what it is that you're doing because fear
00:11:12
is part of the process. My fear was I didn't really have
00:11:16
any fear actually, because when I came into it, I kind of got a
00:11:21
picture of what to expect, but I didn't expect for it to grow.
00:11:25
That was the only thing I didn't know.
00:11:27
And and handling the growth as time goes on, it's just one of
00:11:31
them things I didn't really, really thought about because as
00:11:36
I said, per usual in the last season that I thought a couple
00:11:39
people were just going to wear it and it just gave me something
00:11:42
to do. Now it's like it's just growing.
00:11:47
I don't even know what to say. We globally know now.
00:11:51
I started in my idea and when I was in Tennessee, I got it going
00:11:57
in Dallas, came back to Tennessee and it blossom.
00:12:01
I'm being looked at in all kind of different ways.
00:12:04
Another fear of failure is asking for support.
00:12:06
Me, I had a tough time with that because I don't, I don't know
00:12:09
how to ask nobody for anything. So I do a lot of stuff on my own
00:12:13
and it works really well for me. But per usual, I have been
00:12:20
getting out that mode of asking for support because now I put
00:12:24
public service announcement if anybody want to be interviewed
00:12:26
or post or anything of that nature just to help other
00:12:32
companies like myself because I didn't have it coming in.
00:12:36
So I would like to help others. The only way that I didn't get
00:12:40
it. So that what came about with me
00:12:45
interviewing the people in the past on the podcast and from
00:12:48
their point of view, a lot of people are happy.
00:12:51
A lot of people like their episode.
00:12:55
They gain notoriety outside of their local area and it's been
00:13:01
good. So I can't really complain on
00:13:04
ask for support because it goes a long way.
00:13:08
And if for the best advice I can give people, not so many people
00:13:12
that know you support you. There's a lot of strangers that
00:13:15
support you and you reach further grounds when you're
00:13:19
dealing with a lot of strangers. Last but not least, investing in
00:13:24
yourself. When you invest in yourself, you
00:13:27
feel good about it. Invest in yourself as I'm
00:13:31
talking about business wise, but people do it all the time.
00:13:34
People invest in yourself in getting clothes, shoes, outfits,
00:13:39
vacations, being seen out of town.
00:13:42
That's what you call investing in yourself.
00:13:45
People do it, everybody does it, but everybody doing their own
00:13:48
way. Me, I invested myself company
00:13:50
wise as in getting merch. This is one of our custom
00:13:56
football jerseys and got the number 88.
00:14:03
They say we legit on it and this is the Raider style anniversary
00:14:07
jersey. And if you would like one just
00:14:11
get in the DMS of any social media.
00:14:14
The links will be in description or you can send me an e-mail
00:14:17
like I said previously earlier in the podcast at
00:14:20
welegitllc16@gmail.com. And also another thing of fear
00:14:26
of failure. People overthink everything and
00:14:29
never move. That doubt will always be there.
00:14:34
But just remember, doubt is part of the process.
00:14:39
Failure is part of entrepreneurship.
00:14:43
Now, if you are in doubt and of everything that you're going to
00:14:48
do, you better off not trying to get into the business world
00:14:51
because it's not going to go your way or your favor and you
00:14:55
gotta be mentally strong and sharp.
00:14:57
So if you can't handle failure, that's just not the line of the
00:15:01
own work that you should be getting into because every
00:15:04
successful business owner has long had failed launches.
00:15:08
I'm 1. I had spoke on that too.
00:15:11
Lot of good launches, product shirts wise, design wise, I felt
00:15:15
like was good. Like my black love edition
00:15:19
didn't do anything, RAM edition didn't do too much anything but
00:15:25
as time went on it became a purchase.
00:15:28
Bad investments. I had a couple I tried to do a
00:15:32
radio station then pan out the way I did because I followed the
00:15:37
instructions on how to get it going.
00:15:40
Just didn't work out. Couple of people tried to get me
00:15:46
to purchase from overseas. Haven't done it yet.
00:15:50
I get DM's from them every day. There another bad investment
00:15:57
that I try to do. I think it was just a radio
00:16:01
station and a couple subscriptions but it didn't
00:16:07
really pan out or anything like that.
00:16:09
So I haven't been scammed but I have wasted some money on
00:16:13
certain things I thought was gonna be beneficial but it
00:16:15
didn't really work. And also slow seasons.
00:16:18
Every business have a slow season.
00:16:21
Even though your season is slow, still put content out, still
00:16:26
launch your business and still show what it is that you do
00:16:30
'cause I always remember somebody's watching and
00:16:34
someone's always on that phone and surfing.
00:16:38
And another thing to know that the people who win in business
00:16:42
aren't the ones who never fail. They are the ones who kept
00:16:46
moving after the failure. The next segment we're going to
00:16:51
get into is trying to do everything alone.
00:16:55
I right here is a victim of that.
00:16:59
A lot of entrepreneurs try to wear every hat.
00:17:01
Marketing, branding, sales, accounting, content creation.
00:17:05
Me, I love marketing because I love putting stuff together.
00:17:08
I like taking the pictures, like doing a video recording.
00:17:12
I like to do all that stuff and I like the marketing because I
00:17:15
like to see what the other people see and it gives me a
00:17:18
good idea of if I'm doing this correctly or not.
00:17:21
Branding, I love it because I have a lot of ideas and stuff I
00:17:25
want to do. So it gives me a lot of
00:17:29
creative, a lot of creativity to showcase what I can do because
00:17:35
you know, I'm coming on three years of selling and people are
00:17:38
starting to recognize it and see it.
00:17:40
So it put a smile on my face to see that this hard work that
00:17:43
I've been doing is finally get to pay off and it's looking
00:17:46
good. Sales.
00:17:49
I always get a lot of sales. Sales is up and down, but each
00:17:53
time a person get a purchase, I get a review, I get AADM of
00:17:58
good. I mean, I like I like the merch
00:18:01
and everything that you're doing, man, I love the good
00:18:04
praise. Check my website out.
00:18:06
You can see my own reviews and if you're curious, you can go to
00:18:10
Google map, type in We Legit LLC and you'll see what I'm talking
00:18:13
about. Accounting, I always keep tabs
00:18:17
on everything. There's a lot of stuff that you
00:18:19
got to pay as entrepreneur. You have to pay your own sale
00:18:22
tax dues every three months to see how much money you made, and
00:18:29
depending on what state you're in, it kind of dictate what you
00:18:32
got to pay at the end of the year.
00:18:35
Also, you got to pay a franchise tax, so you really got to stay
00:18:38
on top of your accounting. Content creation, for me, it's
00:18:42
pretty easy and first it was hard because I know what to know
00:18:46
what I was doing. Last time went on, I grew, so it
00:18:50
got better. So for me, content creation and
00:18:52
marketing kind of running hand in hand.
00:18:56
So it's kind of like I'm doing the same thing.
00:19:00
So it's not necessarily work for me.
00:19:02
It's just something I love doing and eventually doing all that
00:19:06
stuff. Some days I get really burnt out
00:19:08
where I don't want to do nothing or interact with people and it
00:19:11
kind of hurts because it don't really hurt.
00:19:13
But say, if I got a good momentum going on and I've been
00:19:17
doing so much by myself to where it's like it takes a toll on
00:19:21
you. There's some people like damn,
00:19:23
like how come he went live or he's posting but I ain't seen
00:19:26
what he's doing or anything like that.
00:19:28
And I never really thought about what others was thinking or
00:19:34
anything like that until I had stopped going live on Tiktok.
00:19:38
And then when I went back live on Tiktok a lot of people was
00:19:40
like damn, where you been at? And you know, it kind of let me
00:19:43
know like that. I need to be consistent on this
00:19:45
because I know a lot of people was looking and searching and
00:19:48
see how I'm doing. They say they love the vibe and
00:19:51
all they do is be vibing and chilling.
00:19:53
And you know, it's just you got 2 good days, you got 2 bad days,
00:19:59
but you got to learn how to manage your time and manage on
00:20:02
who you have around in your circle.
00:20:04
But also remember this real growth happens when you start
00:20:08
collaborating, outsourcing, building a network.
00:20:12
Right now I'm collaborating always outsourcing and I'm
00:20:16
building a network. I have a small group of people
00:20:20
that I met online Tiktok wise on the lives and everything is all
00:20:24
coming about good. No bad press or anything, just
00:20:31
we all trying to find our way and learning and doing it the
00:20:35
best way we can. Some of us are known locally and
00:20:39
some are known outside of their own local area.
00:20:44
So business is business. It's all good and we all trying
00:20:48
to get that same status and goal of financial freedom and it's
00:20:55
never easy. It's everyday working.
00:20:58
It's hard. It's hard every day because
00:21:01
every day is not the same. The next thing we're going to
00:21:04
get into is lack of systems. Many entrepreneurs stay stuck
00:21:08
because they rely on motivation instead of systems.
00:21:12
I am a victim of this. Motivation can come and go.
00:21:16
System creates consistency. Once I got into my system and
00:21:23
kept it on consistent, now I got content, schedules, weekly
00:21:30
business goals, budgeting and reinvesting profit.
00:21:35
So when people meet me don't know me from a can of paint,
00:21:39
they think I'm weird because I'm social.
00:21:43
But I don't let a lot of people in because I have so much to do.
00:21:48
So it might seem like I'm sitting around not doing much,
00:21:53
but in real time I'm really doing a whole lot.
00:21:55
I do. I work out the phone, so they
00:21:57
always want to work out my cell phone.
00:21:59
And now that I'm actually doing it, it's pretty fun.
00:22:02
It keeps me on my P's and Q's and it's just a lot of fun.
00:22:06
But once I got a system together and being consistent, a lot of
00:22:10
stuff has now become easy. And now it's not considered
00:22:14
work. It's just like something I just
00:22:15
love doing. But and, but in the beginning,
00:22:21
motivation starts business, but system scales business.
00:22:27
In the beginning it was all about motivation.
00:22:29
Motivation got me through a lot. Motivation kept me going.
00:22:32
Once I was kept going, then I became consistent.
00:22:36
Consistent kept going, consistent kept going.
00:22:38
And now I'm that consistency turned into a system.
00:22:42
Year three now I got a full system, a full everything and it
00:22:46
led me to podcasting outside of selling merch.
00:22:49
And now, now I'm creating a system and there's a good
00:22:53
balance and everything. It's just flowing and I really
00:22:56
cannot complain. Y'all.
00:22:57
It's just everyday thing that's just growing it.
00:23:01
It put a smile on my face, see people viewing it, liking it,
00:23:05
give me good praise. You know, you never know who's
00:23:08
watching. But when people give you good
00:23:11
criticism and good feedback on what you're doing and most
00:23:14
definitely put a smile on your face, even if it's bad, I look
00:23:18
at bad is like this is something I got to work on.
00:23:21
And like I said, when it comes to entrepreneurship, you got to
00:23:25
be teachable because if you're not teachable, you're just going
00:23:29
to be stuck and not growing and then you're going to create a
00:23:32
lot of debt and you might have to file bankruptcy and all kinds
00:23:37
of stuff. So you got to be teachable in
00:23:39
this line of work. Doesn't matter what you in, But
00:23:42
when you're working for yourself, you got to realize
00:23:44
that, like I said on my last episode of last season, you
00:23:48
know, you're going to be the boss.
00:23:49
They're going to come to you to everything.
00:23:51
So if you're just being stuck in your ways and not trying to work
00:23:56
with people because you got new generations coming in with new
00:23:59
thought process and you know, you got to learn how to manage
00:24:02
all that stuff. So you being stuck in your way
00:24:05
somewhere on the boss, on the boss putting the results being
00:24:07
produced, nobody want to work with you.
00:24:10
So you it's a lot of things that you got to work on yourself
00:24:14
before you get into entrepreneurship.
00:24:15
If you are serious about what it is that you want to do, Next
00:24:19
thing we're gonna get into is comparison and social media
00:24:21
pressure. Social media.
00:24:23
Social media makes entrepreneurship looks fast and
00:24:26
easy. People see viral success, big
00:24:29
money, overnight growth, but they don't see the years of work
00:24:34
behind it. Like I said earlier, this is
00:24:38
year three. I stake assistant get this
00:24:42
strict program and scheduling on my content.
00:24:46
I never looked for viral success, I never looked for big
00:24:48
money, and I never looked for overnight growth.
00:24:51
All I was looking for is giving this thing, giving me something
00:24:54
to do, which it did. I went from pressing T-shirts
00:24:59
and hoodies and sweatshirts to doing jerseys, hats, beanies.
00:25:05
My mom made bags now, so there's two custom bags that she made.
00:25:11
I will put the link that is the link in the description and one
00:25:16
of my episodes I post the bags of she have done.
00:25:21
She does custom beanies and she do hand tags.
00:25:26
So it's expanding to a lot of different things.
00:25:31
And when you don't look for viral success or big money and
00:25:38
overnight growth, your company is gonna grow slow, steady, slow
00:25:43
and steady always win the race. When you look for viral success
00:25:46
and big money overnight growth that will keep you stuck because
00:25:51
you're not looking for longevity, you just looking for
00:25:54
a short and fast money and sensation just to be seen.
00:25:58
It's just saying hey, you know that's what I did and blah blah.
00:26:02
That viral moment only lasts for a hot 2nd.
00:26:05
But when you slow and steady win the race, you're grind and
00:26:10
you're attention span is going to spread a whole lot further
00:26:13
because not only are you putting in work, but you are seeing the
00:26:19
growth while you're in it. And for me, that's what I had a
00:26:23
tough time. That's what I'm dealing with
00:26:24
right now is actually seeing the growth.
00:26:27
I'm not seeing what other people seeing it because I'm in it.
00:26:31
But some days when I be sitting back and thinking, I was like,
00:26:34
well, I really came a long way from starting this and now it's
00:26:41
like to be known globally. It's just, it's crazy.
00:26:47
The podcasts have reached to global standings along with the
00:26:51
merch and I, I don't have any words for it.
00:26:55
It's just something I never thought about.
00:26:57
And it's just when when you make sure that you're fully mentally
00:27:06
ready to get into being an entrepreneur and you understand
00:27:12
that everything is not going to happen so fast and quick.
00:27:15
If you just understand the process of it, it's going to be
00:27:18
very beautiful and wonderful. And you it's going to be a lot
00:27:21
of people that are going to be proud of you on the quiet.
00:27:24
It comes with a lot of hate. It comes with a lot of he said,
00:27:28
she said that people that don't like you.
00:27:30
But as we all know, you can't satisfy everybody.
00:27:36
And with that being said, when entrepreneurs compare their
00:27:40
chapters to someone else's Chapter 15, they lose
00:27:45
confidence. When I started out, I didn't
00:27:49
really look at other people about, oh, man, they made it,
00:27:54
man. Look how they looking.
00:27:56
Yeah, I need to get on that level.
00:27:58
But I still kept being consistent on what it is that I
00:28:00
was doing. I never count other people eggs.
00:28:04
I only count my own eggs. And then you never know how long
00:28:08
that person been in business to get where they're at.
00:28:11
So when you're getting into something, never look at a
00:28:17
person that's been doing it for years and you compare yourself
00:28:22
to that person because you don't know what that person went
00:28:25
through to get where they're at. So you gotta stop comparing to
00:28:31
what you're doing to what somebody else is doing and just
00:28:34
stay in your lane and just drive and just cruise.
00:28:38
Because I always remember like neighborhood Nipa city, the
00:28:41
marathon continues. Next segment is going to be not
00:28:48
investing back into the business.
00:28:50
Some entrepreneurs want to profit too early, which is true.
00:28:57
Me, I had a job to fall back on, so I never looked at the profit
00:29:01
too early because I know that if I quit this job that I had and I
00:29:08
go all into my business, what if I ain't make any money?
00:29:11
What if I ain't do this? And what if I ain't do that?
00:29:14
Things pile up and add pretty quick, so I gotta have something
00:29:17
to fall back on. So I didn't want to be in a
00:29:21
situation to where I just quit just to start a business.
00:29:25
But what if the business don't pick up?
00:29:26
What if it don't grow? So it's just a lot of discipline
00:29:32
and what it is that you're trying to do.
00:29:34
So and as usual, in the early stages, business required
00:29:38
reinvestment, marketing, branding, equipment and
00:29:44
education. Reinvesting.
00:29:47
You always got to reinvest. You got to have money in your
00:29:50
business account because you never know what might pop up.
00:29:53
Marketing everyday thing on social media, going live,
00:29:57
marketing, content creation, taking pictures and videos,
00:30:01
marketing, going outside with the merch or you cooking on a
00:30:05
grill or doing whatever it is that you're doing on the street
00:30:07
corner outside or anything of that nature.
00:30:10
Marketing. So I'm recording content
00:30:12
creation some by interviewing while they're getting a meal or
00:30:15
sending you. So make earrings, doing all
00:30:19
kinds of stuff. Marketing, content creation,
00:30:22
branding at the same time, because you're a brand doing
00:30:25
what you're doing, their brand or content creator, because
00:30:29
they're interviewing you, they're looking at you.
00:30:31
So a lot of stuff is going on in that small span of time while
00:30:37
Magic is being worked. A lot of people don't look at it
00:30:40
that way because you got to look at when you start a business,
00:30:45
this is a company and has potentially be a 500, what's the
00:30:50
word, a 500 Fortune company, even though you might not look
00:30:56
at it in the beginning, but things change as time goes on.
00:30:59
So just another thing to look at too.
00:31:02
Also equipment. Me, I started off with a heat
00:31:06
press, a cricket machine and that was it.
00:31:10
As time went on, I eventually got a ring light, I got a stand
00:31:14
to put my clothes and stuff on while I go live to people's to
00:31:18
see. Got a hat press, got stickers,
00:31:23
clear baggage bags, a sign, say humble and hustle that be on my
00:31:29
TikTok lines and keep me motivated.
00:31:31
A lot of different things. So equipment always going to be
00:31:35
in the mix. You always got to upgrade and
00:31:36
update because they always making something new.
00:31:39
It's time to go on and you don't want to be stuck to being in the
00:31:42
same old same old. Some equipment is good to keep.
00:31:46
Some equipment is good to get as time goes on.
00:31:48
Just depend on the field and the work that you're in.
00:31:51
Education that's everyday, you can learn from people that have
00:31:55
been in the business for years back in the day before
00:31:58
technology or you can learn from technology right now.
00:32:02
A lot of people's use an AI which is cool, but groundwork
00:32:07
will always keep you grounded in discipline.
00:32:09
AI is a good source for education wise and learning wise
00:32:13
and getting advice wise, but to depend on it every single day,
00:32:16
you're not going to get too far even though they give good
00:32:19
advice, but at the end of the day, you got to make your mind
00:32:23
work. So use AI as an educational
00:32:26
tool, not on everything. And if you never reinvest the
00:32:31
business, stop growing. All that is part of the process.
00:32:36
Reinvesting, reinvesting, reinvesting.
00:32:40
It's a good thing to say. Reinvesting as in like when I
00:32:44
started off, I didn't think about sports jerseys.
00:32:46
I've seen sports jerseys 'cause I wanted one.
00:32:48
BAM sports jersey jewelry never thought about it end up let me
00:32:54
see if fish holes yeah let's the Pete littlest piece Long Beach
00:32:58
finest chain. So there's a lot of things I
00:33:03
didn't think about that just happened as time went on and I
00:33:08
started liking it so you I can't complain on the process of how
00:33:14
things are going. It's just growing growing
00:33:16
growing Last but not least lack of clear vision.
00:33:20
Some people start business but don't know who their audience
00:33:24
is, what problem they had they solve, what their long term goal
00:33:29
is. For me, get into the business
00:33:32
world. When I started the the T-shirts,
00:33:35
I didn't know what my audience was neither.
00:33:38
I just wanted to sell it to anybody that was willing to buy,
00:33:41
but I didn't know that I had to build a connection.
00:33:46
The other things I had to learn on the fly.
00:33:49
Now my audience is from the range of 25 and up, mainly males
00:33:54
and male and female. So I have a big variety, but
00:33:59
everybody can can relate to what I display and they can relate to
00:34:05
what I sell. So and then when I went to
00:34:09
podcasting, it got me looked at a whole lot more in a different
00:34:12
aspect. And so a lot of people are very
00:34:15
comfortable with me and going live on Tiktok became very
00:34:20
lucrative for the long term. So now I'm looked at in a lot of
00:34:24
different cities and States and a lot of I spoke to a lot of
00:34:29
people I don't even know. So it's good for me because not
00:34:34
only is business wise, but I'm just being genuine because you
00:34:38
never know who you run into and you never know who's watching.
00:34:42
So it's just business and networking at the end of the day
00:34:47
and what problem they solve. I will say before I start going
00:34:53
live, it was kind of rough because I'm posting, posting,
00:34:57
posting. The only people that I know are,
00:35:01
you know, looking at it. But once I went live, I, it got
00:35:05
me to expand and come out of a shell to interact with a lot of
00:35:10
different people that I don't know.
00:35:12
So it was good and I wouldn't know, I would suggest if you're
00:35:19
having a business or any type of entrepreneurship that you're
00:35:24
doing, I would say go to Tiktok and go live and showcase your
00:35:28
own talent because you never know who's watching.
00:35:31
And a lot of people are intrigued and you know, they
00:35:34
want to communicate and just talk.
00:35:37
You never know where it might go, the long term goal.
00:35:41
A lot of people, like I said in the beginning, when they first
00:35:44
start out, they think it's short term.
00:35:45
They're not thinking long term. If you're building and building
00:35:49
and building, then long term goals come into play.
00:35:52
Me, I was doing the clothes, clothing thing.
00:35:56
I never thought of my long term thing.
00:35:58
I didn't have one, but I was seeing how a lot of people was
00:36:02
interacting with the brand. So that's when I got into
00:36:07
podcasting and look, and now I just, it just grew.
00:36:13
I don't really have any words. It wasn't like all the stuff was
00:36:16
playing. I just did it.
00:36:18
Now, if I did these podcast episodes and you know, and
00:36:23
nobody was digging it, I could say at least I tried.
00:36:26
But now that a lot of people is liking what I'm doing, you know,
00:36:31
it's just so it got me excited and keeping me going.
00:36:36
I come up with concepts and titles and want to talk about
00:36:40
and I put it in motion. It's all about hustle and
00:36:44
stories. And I didn't write a book on any
00:36:47
of these things. It's just something I learned on
00:36:50
the way. So now I can.
00:36:55
I'm about to let y'all go, but I have a couple of things to say
00:37:01
to close out this episode. And always, I always remember,
00:37:08
most entrepreneurs don't fail because they lack talent.
00:37:14
They fail because they lack discipline, patience and
00:37:19
structure. Building something real.
00:37:23
It takes time, but you gotta stay focused, you gotta stay
00:37:29
consistent and you gotta stay disciplined because the ones who
00:37:34
keep building, eventually they break breakthrough and I'm gonna
00:37:40
leave that right there. And before I close this out,
00:37:45
just remember, inspiration means nothing without action.
00:37:49
Apply what you heard, move with discipline, build with
00:37:54
intentions in this episode. If this episode added value,
00:38:00
share it with someone building. And if you want the support the
